Essentially they two words mean the same thing, but the term “recycled”, as applied to wood is often interpreted to mean the plastic/wood composite decking products. “Reclaimed” has evolved and the term most commonly used to describe wood, which has been salvaged from a previous use. “Rediscovered” is often used to describe wood that has been salvaged from rivers or forests.

Yes, we operate our own mill and work with a network of outside millworks which enable us to provide virtually any standard or custom product in reclaimed wood.

Some of our wood is stored in our yard, under cover, and some is stored in our warehouse such as our flooring products. We are members of the West Coast Lumber Inspection Bureau and are licensed to grade lumber according to their rules.

Because our wood is reclaimed, it is usually dry and stable. Some products, such as flooring, are additionally kiln-dried to insure a uniform stability. When appropriate, we can also heat-treat wood to control insects.

We specialize in reclaimed tropical hardwoods, California redwood, and Douglas fir. From these woods we produce flooring, decking, siding, paneling, beams and timbers and furniture and cabinet stock.

We like to think of all of our products as unique. Indeed some of our premium redwoods and Asian rosewood and teak are quite rare today.

New wood of comparable quality is simply not typically available. Reclaimed wood is essentially a hand-crafted product, so our prices do tend to perceived as somewhat higher. But, as with anything, you get what you pay for.
